Quoted me 1400 to repair a leak. Sounded reasonable because they said they had to pull up tile, cut out the plywood because of rotting and replace everything new. They really sold me on the fact they had to cut out a portion of the wood. Well it turns out when they pulled the tiles and exposed the wood for the top it was not rotted. They did the right thing and didn’t unnecessarily cut the roof. The issue is when I called to pay they did not deduct quote for the portion that required cutting the roof and replacing the plywood. When I called Mike Wilde, his first reaction was I’ll deduct $25 because that it what the would cost and they was NO labor associated with the quote for the cutting and replacing of the plywood. When I told him that I disagreed, his next reaction was to tell me they would come back to cut out the wood and redo the work. I told him if that’s how they do business by doing unnecessary repairs simply to no accept the fact their original estimate was inaccurate then they are wrong. He backed off and told me he would credit $150 and I accepted to just be done dealing with the situation. It’s unfortunate because I felt everything went well up to the point when they treated me like an idiot telling me the portion of the quote for cutting a hole in my roof was only $25 and suggested they’d come back just to fulfill the job order for an unnecessary repair.
